| Description: | Seek documentation of the birth of Alexandre (Alexander) François LOEMANS in July, 1817 in France and that his parents where David F. Loemans and Rose Charlotte (de Morges) Loemans. The reference I have is as follows: From the book Records of William Spooner, of Plymouth, Mass, and His Descendants, By Thomas Spooner, Vol 1, page 291, published 1883.: Julia Ruggles Seavey, born June 17, 1829, married August 15, 1855 to Stephen S Seavey who died October 6. 1867. Mrs. Julia (Ruggles) Seavey married on March 20, 1878, Alexander F. Loemans, son of David F. and Rose C (de Morges) Loemans, who was born July 1817. He was born in France; removed to America in 1841. He is a landscape painter of repute and lives at Hamilton, Ontario. His father was David Loemans, a native and councilor of Switzerland David F. Loemans was born in Bellinzona, Switzerland and was a councilor at law. His wife Rose Charlotte, was the eldest daughter of Count Charles de Morges, of Grenoble, France. Marriage and obituary (died 1898, Minneapolis, MN, USA) records list him as being born in July of 1817 in France and being the Count de Mogce (Morges?). Some records indicate birth in 1816. |
