| Description: | I am seeking to expand my Schutz lines. I have strong German roots originating from Frankfurt, Germany.
I am seeking to go back further on my Schutz line. My last name was changed from Schutz to Schuetz when my grandfather arrived here from Germany in the late 1920's.
My aunt was only able to trace 2 generations back on the Schutz line from my grandfather to his father. Not much is known about my great, grandfather, Johann Ludwig Schutz. He died on Aug 16, 1910 in Frankfurt, am Main, Germany. He was a manager of a fuel depot. He left a widow, Regina Margaretta Schueremann with 2 children: Ludwig Johann (real name is Adolph - he changed his name when he arrived here. He did not want anyone to think he was associated with Adolf Hitler)
and Hedwig Schutz. Regina Margaretta Schueremann was born on Jan 1, 1873 in Falkengasses - Oldenwald, Germany and died on Aug 16, 1943 in Schauffhausen, Switzerland. My paternal grandfather and his sister were raised by their aunt and uncle (names unknown). My grandfather and grandmother immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1920's. They were both married here, too.
I am hoping there is a christening record on Johann Ludwig Schutz possibly in Falkengasses-Oldenwald, Germany. Johann Ludwig Schutz and August Bremser were good friends. Both men married the Schueremann sisters, Regina Margaretta Schueremann and Christina Katharina Schueremann. Both ended up being my great grandparents from my grandfather and grandmother's side.
I will attach 2 family group sheets to help with the search. This is all I have.
