| Description: | My grandfather, Anthony Murphy, was born in the Curracloe area of Countu Wexofrd, Ireland. He was the youngest of 12 children (I think a few died in infancy). His parents were John Murphy (b c1848 to 1931) and Bridget Sinnott (b c.1857 to 1906). They were married January 16, 1880.
John's parents were Thomas Murphy (b c1818) and Johanna Kehoe (b c1822), who were married June 6, 1842 in the Curracloe area of County Wexford.
Bridget's parents were Nicholas Sinnott (b c1831 - 1871) and Anastasia Cullen (b c1835 to 1895). Nicholas' parents were Matthew (possibly Andrew) Sinnott (b c1800 to abt 1860) and Hanna (b c1801 to 1861).
I do have the siblings of Anthony Murphy, John Murphy, Bridget Sinnott and Nicholas Sinnott.
Matthew Sinnott may have had a brother, Pierce Sinnott. Some of Johanna Kehoe siblings may be Thomas Kehoe, Brigid Kehoe and Catherine Kehoe as these were sponsors of Johanna's children.
I don't have the marriage for Nicholas Sinnott and Anastasia Cullen - a search of the Castlebridge registers didn't find a marriage - so they may have been married somewhere else. Bridget Sinnott seems to be oldest child - born c 1857 - so think that the marriage was c1855.
I have had some research done prior and have info from Griffith's and the House Surveyor books.
I do relalise that Irish research is harder but what I would like to find out is more on Anastasia Cullen, Thomas Murphy and Thomas' wife Johanna Kehoe - i.e births?/deaths?....I would provide more info on what research has been done already.
If I am able to find out anything on the above, I would like to come up with a game plan on further research. |
